David was born in Lewisham SE London on 8th November 1960. His childhood years were spent between Lewisham and Faversham, were the family eventually moved to. Dave now lives in Welling Kent, with his partner Tracy. On leaving school in 1977, Dave joined the Army. But due to an unfortunate accident was eventually discharged in 1981. After a year of rehabilitation and physiotherapy, Dave took on various jobs. Studying further education at night school, he joined the Post office in 1986. Working at Mount Pleasant sorting office, Dave became heavily involved in the Spots and Social Club. Becoming Deputy Chair in 1999 and two years later Chair. Dave studied the knowledge of London in his spare time, eventually gaining his coveted Green badge. In 2006 Dave joined the WCofHCDs and he was granted livery in 2007. Dave has been a volunteer driver on the Magical taxi Tour. In 2008 Dave attended the Cab Guide Course and it was then that he was asked to join the education committee. Dave is a City of London guide, guiding instructor for the company and secretary of the education committee. He also holds various other guiding qualifacations. Continuing to study London’s history in his spare time, Dave’s other pastime is music, whilst Tracy’s passion has become gardening. Dave and Tracy also enjoy travelling.
