The Master and a group of WCHCD members and cab guide course graduates enjoyed a great day out raising money for the Magical Taxi Tour with a Historic Pub Walk (definitely, absolutely, categorically not a pub crawl).
The tour was called “Theatreland – Embankment to Covent Garden” led by Gary Smith who is a member of both the Furniture Makers and Fletchers Livery Companies, who, having met the Master at a Furniture Makers’ dinner, kindly offered his services as our guide for free to help us raise some funds.
We enjoyed a very nice lunch with great service from Harley and the team at The Salisbury, St Martin’s Lane, which is well worth a visit if you’re in this part of town.
And we also took in Embankment; Victoria Embankment Gardens; The Ship & Shovel – Craven Passage; The Lamb & Flag – Rose St; The Nell Gwynne Tavern – Bull Lane; and The Coal Hole – Strand.
Thanks to Gary for the fascinating tour and to all those who came out to support the event.
